eLearning To Go! by Kineo

My friend Steve Rayson has sent me a heads up on the launch of Kineo's Rapid eLearning Store which by the time of writing this has already launched. So whats it all about - in Kineo's words:

"From authoring tools to guides; from e-learning templates to training; from temporary staff to low cost hosted learning management and delivery platforms, look no further.

Also explore our unique flatpack e-learning, everything you need including scripts, images and questions. Just edit and assemble. No time to assemble? Then buy our e-learning to go, our high quality e-learning products."

  • Here is their brochure.
  • The brochure explaining their "Flatpack" concept can be downloaded here .
  • They have also put together a nice authoring tool selection guide which can be downloaded by clicking here .

Rapid eLearning is the new buzzword and Kineo seems poised to carve out a niche for themselves early on in this space. Indian vendors like Brainvisa are also experimenting by developing authoring tools, the success of which remains to be seen. It will be interesting to see how the market evolves and the impact this has on traditional courseware developers out of India and what they do to re-align themselves with the new market dynamic.

Steve_pic02_1 The Learned Man! wishes Steve and the Kineo team all the best. (Steve also by the way likes his coffee and here is a picture of Steve with the author having a cup at Starbucks, London, September 2006)

Kineo's Review of Brainvisa's Rapid e-Learning Authoring Tool

Kineo who have been gathering loads of expertise in the rapid e-learning space recently reviewed a tool developed by Brainvisa, a mid-sized custom e-Learning content player based in Pune, India.

You can read the full review by clicking here.

Here is then the bottom line according to Kineo:

"RapideL is potentially a very fast tool for rapid e-learning and a great vehicle for simple content that you need producing quickly. It uses Word as the authoring tool which will appeal to some users.

The downsides are that the templates are quite rigid and more experienced learning designers may find this frustrating as will corporate branding departments as it is not possible to rebrand the look and feel."
